Davis Quail Hunts is an incredible place. From the comfort of the lodge to the scrumptious southern cooking, to the finest dogs I have ever hunted over, to the new friends I have in Colvin and Mazie, this is one of the finest trips I have had the pleasure of enjoying. …we’ve been so busy we’re neglecting our News page! On March 13th, we had a great day of shooting and laughter with hunters Watt, Mike and Jim. Our guests sure kept Charlie busy!!! All of us at Davis Quail Hunts sure enjoyed spending time with these fine gentlemen.
What a fun couple of days with Mr. Jack and his friends! Plenty of shooting, even more laughter, a good time all the way around.
February was a great month we had some wonderful people hunting with us. Including Greg, Mike, and Dan along with the Collier Family.

This fall we spent a fantastic day with Venture Outdoors hosts, Don Day and Rick Redmon along with cameraman Curt Gantt. They filmed a quail hunt which will be aired on Sunday, January 3rd at 9:00 am on WCOV FOX 20 (central and south Alabama).

We invited our young friend, Bo Weickum to join in on the fun. Bo knows all about hunting quail over pointing dogs. He is the proud owner of Huck, the English setter and Dot, the pointer who appears on the homepage of our Davis Kennels website.

Charlie is a field bred English Cocker Spaniel bred, raised and expertly trained by Emily Williams of Kinchafoonee Kennels of Albany, Georgia. Charlie’s job is to retrieve shot birds and he does it in a fast and exciting manner! Plus he’s a character and is becoming a huge hit with our hunting clients!
Also here from Maine to spend the winter at Davis Quail Hunts is Pal’s Sea Pearl, better known as Libby. Libby grew up hunting quail in Texas and competes in field trials and hunts grouse and woodcock in New England with her owner and our friend, Chris Mathan.
We recently had the pleasure of a visit from Alabama Black Belt Adventures’ Executive Director, Aaron Lisech and his young friend, Daniel Haase. It was Daniel’s first quail hunt. We think he enjoyed it! We are proud to be included on the Alabama Black Belt Adventures website. What an exciting project…we wish them luck in the coming year!
