It’s that time again! We’re making plans to go to Canada in early July. We take only a few bird dogs to our Broomhill grounds for training on wild birds to ensure that each gets all the opportunities needed to succeed. If you would like to send a dog with us or have questions about our Summer Training Program, please contact us. We already have several dogs booked.

What a delight to have Charles, Jay, Pete, Richard and Kevin at Davis Quail Hunts for the last weekend of the season. Charles is one of our regular hunters…we are always pleased to see him and his friends. And it was great fun to spend time with Kevin Slaughter of Antlers and Anglers Worldwide who does a fine job booking our hunts. Thanks to all our friends and clients for the great quail hunting season we had. We look forward to seeing you again next season!

We had a wonderful late season hunt with Joe, Linda, Heath and Garret who celebrated his 13th birthday with us. Only his second time quail hunting, Garret was a crack shot and demonstrated his thorough understanding of gun safety. Very impressive! It was fun to see three generations quail hunting together. And Linda’s recent ankle surgery did not deter her from accompanying the family on the hunt.

We take only a limited number of field trial and personal hunting dogs (all pointing breeds) for summer training on the Canadian prairies. All three men are fantastic shots…at the end of the day they had bagged 68 birds! And thanks to our very own Marcia Davis, retriever handler, for her fine work with Frack and Nicki. The Rogers’ and their group had a great 3 1/2 days of November hunting at Davis Quail Hunts. The bird dogs were on their game but Charlie, Frack, and Nikki (retrievers) stole the show!! Traveling from Texas they said it was sure worth the distance to hunt here.
