Grouse dogs, Fin (Pal O’ Mine) and Rita (Hard Driving Rita) arrived safely at Davis Quail Hunts late this afternoon. Our field trial friend, Joe McCarl, delivered them to the airport in Pittsburgh, PA this morning and Colvin and Sherman picked them up in Montgomery after some flight delays in Atlanta. Both dogs have spent several winters being trained and hunted in Texas on wild Bobwhites and compete on the grouse dog circuit with Joe and their owner, our friend, Chris Mathan. Fin is a half sister to Libby, who many of our guests have shot quail over and Rita is a daughter of Joe’s seven time grouse champion “Hard Driving Bev”.
