For Field Trial and Upland Bird Hunting dogs of all ages, we offer our Summer Training Program on the Canadian Prairie. We invite you to take this opportunity to send your dog with Field Trial Hall of Fame trainer Colvin Davis for summer training on wild birds on the prairie. For young and mature dogs, personal hunting dogs and field trial contenders, nothing is better for preparing your dog for the fall hunting and field trial season than training on sharptail grouse and Hungarian partridge under the tutelage of Colvin Davis! We take only a limited number of dogs so book early to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity!! For complete details, please download our brochure 2011_DavisKennels_PrairieTraining or call for more information. Call Davis Kennels: 334-227-4521 or Colvin Davis: 334-462-1892.

Patriote Wins the 2010 Manitoba Championship

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

Congratulations to Gary and Sally Lockee of LaGrange, Tennesssee, owners of Patriote on his win of the Manitoba Championship which concluded on September 15. Jim had a huge prairie all-age race with 4 finds — 3 on sharptail grouse and 1 on Hungarian partridge. Jim won the Championship in 2009 as well and we are very proud of him!

We arrived safely at our summer training camp a few days ago. Before we left, our friend Aaron Lisech came by and brought his nephew, Daniel Haase. Daniel spent some time hunting at Davis Quail Hunts and was so taken with the dogs that he asked if he could come up to Canada and learn about training bird dogs. There’s no better opportunity for doing that than on the prairies and we are glad to have Daniel here with us. ‘Course he’ll be getting up at the crack of dawn and tired at the end of the day…that’s the life of a dog trainer! 🙂 Watch for reports throughout the coming weeks.
